INTRODUCING
AUDREY AND BRIAN

THE FOUNDERS OF
THE ATLANTA CREATORS CONFERENCE

Picture

British born Audrey Beharie-McGee has been involved in the
music, entertainment and associated industry for over 35 years in the capacity as a singer, songwriter, producer, label owner and vocal and performing arts coach, and has worked for some prestigious and well known music industry orientated contact so has a vast experience in the world of music, beauty and entertainment.

She is also the artist representation for husband, Brian, and has been involved in a plethora of productions for B.R.E Productions Int. Inc including
"The Gifted", "Good Girls", "American Soul". "The Walking Dead", "Blockers", "Ozark", "Godzilla: King Of The Monsters", "Holidate", "Genius Aretha", "Legacies", "Black Lightening", "Goosebumps2: Haunted Halloween", to name just a few.

Audrey was trained at the prestigious finishing school - "The London Academy of Modeling"  in London, England by the renowned modeling coach, etiquette, writer and body language expert, Judi James, who has trained some of the biggest names in the industry.

In 1983, Audrey, with her ex-husband Julian Francois,  signed a contract as a singer/songwriter at PWL Music owned by Sir Peter Waterman (responsible for hits by Rick Ashley, Banamarama, Kylie Minogue, Hazel Dean, Dead or Alive, to name just a few) and, in 1985 they signed another major recording contract as a singer/songwriter/producer with Polydor Records, UK.

However, Audrey was disillusioned by the treatment of the A&R team that took over from the original team that signed them what were intent on taking them into a completely different musical direction.  Audrey disagreed and not wishing to comprise themselves and the integrity as performer, in an unprecedented move, requested from their management to leave Polydor.

Always tenacious and with a fearless spirit, Audrey had been fortunately to have had the opportunity, whilst actually being signed as "an artist" at Polydor, to have also "worked" as a Promotions Coordinator MCA Records in London so her already existing knowledge of the industry was developed.  Audrey's position at MCA involved working with the stellar  major artist signed to the label creating promotional tours, campaigns,  liaising with key contacts at radio across the UK, and being a perfect Ambassador for MCA and the roster of artists including
Kim Wilde, Shalamar, Stephanie Mills, Belinda Carlisle, Eugene Wilde, New Edition, The Jets, Ready For The World, R.E.M, The Damned, Nik Kershaw, Bobby Womack,  and many more prolific recording artist.

THE ART OF McGEE

Picture

Brian McGee - a native New Yorker - has a stellar resume and reputation within the world of television, film and entertainment.
From  the age of 2, Brian expressed an unusual passion and talent for drawing, probably due to the exposure to his Father's raw talent having,  spent hours watching him draw portraits and doodles.

Although,  in his youth, Brian participated in many extra curricular art programs,  formal training did not begin until he was accepted into New York's High  school of Art & Design. It was there where he focused into the path  of Illustration.

Brian continued his education with a 2-year stint at the School of Visual Arts. During this time he acquired his  love for Baroque art and photography.

Brian started his  professional career as a toy Designer for the now defunct Happiness  Express Toy company. For 3 years he fine tuned his craft and developed  his work ethic.

And, in 1988, she had the honor to work for Sir Paul McCartney, the late Linda McCartney and The McCartney family at their private offices in London, UK.

This would allowed Audrey to be able to “marry” and see the workings of all facets and mechanics of both sides of the industry – as an artist signed to a label and as the record label itself label – and forge out an extension of her experience, knowledge and wisdom within the business.

With the skills, experience and insight gained from her opportunities, and concentrated on applying these talents, in 1988 Audrey formed her own label - Raja Records - to promote their product, devise marketing strategies and sell to record shops, distributors both domestically in the UK and abroad.

In 1996 in London, UK, Audrey went ahead and launched her own enterprises Vocal Zones B.R.E. Productions, Inner City Groove Records and Hourglass Studios
thus creating a  safe shelter, inspiration haven and nurturing environment to a great many raw but talented individuals, up and coming producers, engineers and songwriters using her skills acquired, vocal and performing arts.  She would encourage youngsters to use their skills as a vehicle where she would coach, mentor and inspire in whatever way she could to allow them to make excellent inroads into their careers, to make them bloom, blossom and thrive under the protection of her wings.

Since 1994, also staged in excess of 60 talent showcases and events in the UK which she felt was necessary to allow the growth of confidence and hone and perfect their personal and performing arts skills directing and producing stage shows at the legendary The Old Vic, London,
The Broadway Theater, London UK, The Fairfields Hall, UK, The Royal Opera House in Manchester for England Captain, Rio Ferdinand
, and showcases at The Millennium Dome, in London, UK, to name a few.

If you ask Audrey, she will always tell you that this truly was God's Gift to her to be able to fulfill a divine purpose and that "she" herself is just the "humanity" required to do so.

Audrey arrived in Atlanta GA in 2009 and re-established Vocal Zones USA here in the USA and has staged over 25 events across Atlanta and Georgia, as well as the creation The Miss Teen Dream USA Pageant - which was featured twice on Lifetime TV, Fashion 4Wardz Photography By McGee, and, of course, THE ATLANTA CREATORS and represents the stellar artistry of her amazing and super talented husband, Brian McGee -  The Art Of McGee, which are all part of the B.R.E Productions International, Inc organization.

Audrey is also a professional photographer, writer and a mixed media artist who will be launching her collection in NY in late Spring.

JANET WADE
Music Licensing Specialist for Productions

I have been doing Music Clearance & Licensing for production since 1990 and have held positions at Universal Television, Paramount Pictures Television and promos for Turner Broadcasting's networks, including TBS, TNT, TruTV, TCM, Cartoon Network, Bleacher Report, Turner Sports, NBA TV, etc.

I started in the business working in the Capitol Records tower in Hollywood. I worked in the Special Markets division which was a division where we created new releases with old tracks. Since there were only 6 of us handling the entire "label", I had the experience in learning all aspects of taking an album release from idea stage, A&R, through production, marketing and then to consumer.

Tell Is If You Were Involved In A Project That Really Pushed Your Boundaries?
I have been in many projects like that. Just a couple were biographies on artists which required a lot of music clearances with difficult approvals.

And Why Are You Interested In Working With The Atlanta Creators?
I enjoy sharing my extensive industry knowledge with creative people who are interested in the clearance process. Most producers don't really know what is involved, so I like to educate.

I also want to network with other creatives at the event and expand my own network.

MICHELLE SIMPSON
Entertainment Attorney
Poe Simpson Law

I have practiced law in Georgia since 2006. I attended Howard University and graduated from the School of Business with a bachelors in Business Management. I then attended Harvard Law School and obtained my law degree or JD. I started off with internships in the entertainment industry in college and law school. I also took a course at Berkeley School of Music while at Harvard. Upon moving to Atlanta I interned with an esteemed entertainment attorney, Jonathan Leonard.

I then started my own firm and have had my own firm since then. I'm able to assist my clients with their general business law needs and real estate law as well.

I have been involved in the arts from childhood. I have also wanted to be an attorney since middle school. Around my final years of high school/beginning of college I decided to merge the two and become an entertainment attorney. I love the entertainment industry but I've never wanted to be the talent or onscreen. l recognized that the entertainment industry is one of few industries in which African Americans could make a lot of money without as many barriers (although there are still many barriers), and I noticed many were taken advantaged of and lost a lot of that wealth by the end of their careers. So I wanted to be in a position to educate them and help them protect their assets and brand.

And Lastly, Why Are You Interested In Working With The Atlanta Creators?
I valued providing information to those in or seeking to be in the entertainment industry and would like to assist your organization in its goal to do so. Thank you for the opportunity.

MARISSA CRESPO
Entertainment Attorney
Crespo Law Office P.C.

I am an entertainment attorney with over 6 years of experience drafting and negotiating entertainment contracts in the film, television, music, literary and fashion industries. My practice ranges from handling entertainment finance deals, acting as production counsel on film and tv projects, and providing music supervision services on independent film projects.

Some recent projects include Tiger Rising starring Queen Latifah and Dennis Quaid, a recent Sundance award winning film, and a recent Queens Collective film that will premiere at Tribeca this year.

Tell Us About How You Got Started In The Business?
While attending Columbia Law School to focus on entertainment law, I worked as an independent line producer, a legal intern at an immigration law firm handling O and P visas for artists and entertainers and film attorneys in NYC, and worked in the legal department of SAG-AFTRA preparing arbitration claims regarding unpaid residuals on behalf of actors. Because entertainment law is a tough, competitive industry to get into, I tried to equip myself with as much business and legal knowledge from various perspectives of the film industry to start my own legal practice.

Tell Is If You Were Involved In A Project That Really Pushed Your Boundaries?
My recent project Fiend has been a beautiful challenge, as it forced me to take more of the lead in managing the project and the intricacies of coordinating with two production companies (one domestic and the other international) to assist in the timing process to try and push the project to production with newer producers.

And Lastly, Why Are You Interested In Working With The Atlanta Creators?
I am interested in helping to develop and promote more above-the-line talent in Georgia, while helping to shape the Georgia entertainment infrastructure, with the mission of maintaining development AND productions within the State of Georgia.

NDOSI ANYABWILE
Director
Gorilla Tactix

Hi! I'm Ndosi Anyabwile.  I have been in the film/television business for about 10 years, starting in production then gradually stepping fully into visual effects by 2016.

I directed a few personal projects and received LA Film Festival recognition for my sci-fi series “CHARGED” and was a finalist in the 2015 RODE Reel contest internationally for “Best Visual Effects” and “Best Sci-fi”. In my professional VFX career, I work as a Compositor and earned credits including Stranger Things 3, Spider-Man: Far From Home, Zombieland: Double Tap, Dolemite IS My Name, and more to come.

Trying to make a career in the film business is something that wasn’t taught to me in school. I learned the hard way after graduating college in 2013 that a few student projects weren’t enough to get my foot in the door. I didn’t want to have to move to LA to chase the dream because I believed that film in Georgia was on the rise.

Why Are You Interested In Getting Involved With The Atlanta Creators?
I'm interested in working with The Atlanta Creators because it is always great to learn from other creatives and their journey. When I first started I had no idea how to get into this industry, and to have the opportunity now to share some tools for success with fellow creatives is a great way to grow the GA film community.

DNA Video

I’ve been creating films since my high schools TV Production class. I knew I wanted to create films since I was young. I went school for Digital film & video production and after graduating with my Bachelors, I freelanced until I gained a position working as a director for Rick Ross & Maybach Music Group. After outgrowing that position i took a leap of faith and moved to Atlanta. It was a rough start but I have been blessed with the opportunity to work with some big name artists since I’ve been here.

Tell Us About How You Got Started In The Business?
My first big break was in 2013 when Rick Ross hired me, giving me the opportunity to leave my job and focus on film full time. It was a dream come true, working with artists I used to once watch on TV. That push start to leave my job is what ultimately led to me creating my own business and never having to work again.

Tell Is If You Were Involved In A Project That Really Pushed Your Boundaries?
I have filmed multiple projects with the biggest children’s DJ in Atlanta , DJ Willy Wow, and working with him really pushed my boundaries because I had to focus on creating content for children. My whole career was based around explicit hip hop music so I had to really think out of the box to create concepts & treatments that were kid friendly. One of our biggest projects is an educational music video dedicated to Martin Luther King, & Rosa Parks , and was premiered at the King Center and acknowledged by Dr. Bernice King herself.

And Lastly, Why Are You Interested In Working With The Atlanta Creators?
I was actually a speaker at the Creators Conference last year, and after receiving the invitation to re attend, I could not turn it down. It was an amazing platform for creators like myself to network and tell others about my business!

FRANK ANDERSON
Director/Cinematographer
The Georgia Box Office/
Guts & Style Films

Frank is a former Navy avionics technician with nine years of service. While serving he began learning production and created a popular video podcast-turned regional TV show.  He has been in the industry now for 14 years and is currently a motion graphics artist for Georgia Public Broadcasting and creator/producer for Georgia Box Office.

Frank has always wanted to do film and TV and, together with his wife, Sheena,  started a video podcast about anime which quickly became one of the top 5 on iTunes with about 20,000 downloads per month. Throughout this time, Frank  was being deployed with the Navy and used his downtime to learn software and picked up new techniques. Eventually they turned the podcast into a TV show that went number one in its time slot for primetime. They are still scratching our heads on how that happened.

ASHLEY SHEATS
Film Editor

ulture Born

I have been in the edutainment industry for 10 years. Primarily, I work in live events that do not require post-production. I provide audio, video, and lighting services for events that are not typically recorded. In my time at Culture Born Collective, I began to learn video editing. The documentary, Death to The N-Word, is my first project where I was responsible for the post-production.

Tell Us About How You Got Started In The Business?
One day the Technical Director and the Creative Director asked me what would I be doing at 5:00AM on a Sunday morning. It is a given that I would say "nothing," they said "Go to sleep early on Saturday!" Then I learned how to run cables, troubleshoot, mix, call a show, and so much more. The rest is history!

I love to help others and each time, I sat down to edit Death to The N-Word, I felt like I wasn't helping because I did not know how to edit. Yes, I am still learning more and more each day. This entire project pushes me to not be comfortable in my depth of knowledge, there is always so much more to know. A lot of failure was presented in this process, however, failure does not win!

And Lastly, Why Are You Interested In Working With The Atlanta Creators?
I would love to get to know more Creators and Creatives in Atlanta. I believe in a two-way street for all things, maybe I'll meet someone who can show me how to edit like a pro, or maybe I am able to render a few services. Overall, I am truly excited to meet more people, to see where their perspective lives, to learn more about the ever-expanding art scene, and to have a great time!

ABOUT MABEL
Mabel Barba is a very dear friend of ours that we met on the set of Marvel/Fox' "The Gifted".  Her love, spirit, intellect, wisdom and love of life is so infectious and she is such an extraordinary incredible light to everyone she meets and is truly beautiful – inside and out!

Mabel has worked within the movie and TV industry for over 8 years, has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Film, an Associates in Arts Degree and has worked successfully with such organizations including, Marvel, Fox, Universal, Netflix, Paramount using her skills and talents on productions including "Moonlight", "I Am Frankie", "The Unbroken", "American Crime Story: Versace", "Baywatch", "Ride Along", "Bloodline", "Graceland", "Burn Notice", "24: Legacy", "The Gifted", just to name but a few.

However, I was overwhelmed with so much grief and sadness when I heard that this beautiful lady, who exudes light, life and so much positivity, is, right now, with courageousness and boldness, fighting a rare form of Acute Myeloid Leukemia which required her to have a complete bone marrow transplant on July 8th to save her life.

We wanted to desperately focus on highlighting the need for people from ethnic minorities to register as bone marrow donors as it took Mabel nearly 6 months to find a match. (Mabel was diagnosed in December 2018 and so you can see the seriousness of discovering a suitable donor.)

Mabel is a great believer in God . Her words and positivity gives me strength to further realize that with this faith, prayers and belief, you never to be afraid of any circumstance, as the Universal Creator’s hands, guidance, provision and expertise is being manifested for good and true works!

Please, do what you can to support all those who are suffering from any cancer-related illness so others can be helped and have their quality of life restored and healed by visiting and registering at BeTheMatch.org. Thank You.

Pitching Concepts To TV
Seminar Presentation

by Pitch Expert/Content Creator

JEANNE SIMON

"Sell Your TV Concept Now, Inc."

Everything in Jeanne’s life revolves around creativity. As a pitch expert, she works with clients on concept development, pitch package creation and powerful pitch delivery.  She was on the development and pitch team for ZigZag, a TV series they sold to Animal Planet which aired for two seasons. The Gen X network she co-developed for Turner Broadcasting was green lit by Ted Turner and Scott Sassa.

She has also developed and pitched IP created with Mark Simon and inked 40+ production and distribution deals. Her creative muscles were strengthened when she worked as a producer, writer, and content creator for major TV networks and studios in the entertainment industry for more than 25 years. She has produced 400+ television series episodes including half of Nickelodeon’s Saturday night prime-time block, Snick.

Her credits include Nickelodeon’s Clarissa Explains It All, Roundhouse, Weinerville, Gullah Gullah Island, and Allegra’s Window. Jeanne was on the team which created the format for international Blue’s Clues and produced Cartoon Network’s first live-action series, Carrot Top’s A.M. Mayhem.

She also was a writer/producer/director on TNN’s reality series Roller Jam and a writer for the ABC series Secrets of the Animal Kingdom.

The time I spent with Turner Broadcasting creating an entire new network for them super-charged my creative engine and I teamed up with my husband to create and sell our own TV shows. We’ve created practically every kind of show you can think of: animations for kids and adults, game shows, dramatic TV movies of the week, live-action sitcoms, faith-based TV, live-action kids edutainment, training videos, feature films, and reality TV shows.

We’ve signed 35 distribution deals and won over 50 international awards including Grand Prize in the first ever Nicktoons Film Festival with our series of shorts Timmy’s Lessons in Nature. Every major network called us to pitch after that win. Mark and I continue to create and sell our own concepts and have helped many of our clients get deals of their own.

She has also traveled the world as a lecturer at major TV conferences challenging and training others to pitch their content with authenticity, creativity and passion.

Jeanne approaches all aspects of her life as an exciting puzzle to be solved creatively… even playing tennis. She competes on up to four USTA tennis teams per season and is always finding new ways to get the win!

Jeanne’s ultimate creation are her identical twin young men. She continues to challenge them to create lives of purpose and joy.

And Lastly, Why Are You Interested In Working With The Atlanta Creators?
I have had the pleasure of spending time with Audrey and she convinced me this is an amazing event and that I had some valuable insights to share with the attendees.

KEITH HAMPTON
Filmmaker
Latest Creations

I have been working in the industry for over 25 years. For the last 20 years, I have been CEO and Head Creative at Latest Creations, Inc., Film and Video Production Company, where I wrote, produced, directed, and edited features, shorts, and promo videos.

I continue to make movies independently, while paying my knowledge forward through my Hampton Film Academy programs and college courses I teach.

My first experience working on a film set happened after I saw a string of films released based on books by my favorite author, Stephen King. As a young writer, I felt inspired to learn how to make my own stories into movies, so that my audience could experience them visually and auditorily. So, I volunteered to work on a student film.

After my first taste of filmmaking as a set production assistant, I partnered with another aspiring filmmaker, Rob Hardy to make the historical feature film, Chocolate City. The film was a huge success and sealed the deal on my passion to become a big time film director. I went to film school to hone my craft.

And Why Are You Interested In Working With The Atlanta Creators?
I am a creator. My base is in Atlanta; and based on the information I've gathered about The Atlanta Creators, this is a movement that is in alignment with my objective to pay forward knowledge of how to build and brand oneself as a creator.

MESHALL SHUMATE
Director/Producer/Writer
Shu Productions

Video Production became a part of my life at an early age. At age sixteen, I was managing local R & B bands in the Kansas City Area. By the age of seventeen, I co-wrote, produced directed and edited my first music video. By the ripe old age of eighteen, a cousin and I had formed a production company.

The company was operated in the basement of my parent’s home. The production company produced music video’s, wedding’s, birthday parties, church affairs and special events. Next I landed internships at Starlight Theaters and United Recording Studio’s. Then came a position at Channel 62 television station in master control during the day and spinning the wheels of steel by night at KKFI (FM) community radio station. Excited to see more of the world, I moved to Los Angels California to study filmmaking at Columbia. After graduation, I made a career move to Atlanta Georgia where I was hired immediately as an office production assistant at a production company. Within two years I worked my way into the camera department as 2nd A.C.

Shortly after I steered myself into 1st A.D and 2nd A.D. roles. I had the opportunity to work with outstanding individuals and companies such as; LaFace Records, SoSo Def Records, Hype Williams, Billy Woodruff, ESPN, and the Summer Olympic Games Nissan Corporation Official Sponsor. After hard work and dedication I reached the director’s chair, I can add clients such as; Raven Symone,  Demetrius and Juvenile to my director’s credits.

As a fun loving passionate storyteller.  I made my feature film directorial debut with original screenplay entitled: “The Girlz”.  As a result winning first place for best narrative feature film during the Night Of The Black Independent Film & Video Festival.  My next film award was presented during the Women In Film Preservation Competition at Spelman College which included a CBS channel 46 TV interview with Karyn Greer spotlighting me as a up and coming filmmaker.

ANDY METAYER
Director/
Editor/Creative Director

(i.e experiences, challenges, interesting anecdotes, etc)
My first big break was in 2013 when Rick Ross hired me, giving me the opportunity to leave my job and focus on film full time. It was a dream come true, working with artists I used to once watch on TV. That push start to leave my job is what ultimately led to me creating my own business and never having to work again.

I was actually a speaker at the Creators Conference last year, and after receiving the invitation to re attend, I could not turn it down. It was an amazing platform for creators like myself to network and tell others about my business!

Documentary Presentation

by Director and Filmmaker

SADIQ AL-ALEEM

"Death To The N Word"

Sadiq Al-Aleem is a true native to the north. Sadiq was born on the sixth of April in 1972. He is a painter, sculptor, filmmaker, father, founder of Culture Born, and a Marine Corps veteran that served during the Gulf War. After serving in the Marines, Sadiq felt invincible and decided to take on the challenge of teaching himself various art forms. After living in numerous countries and states, Sadiq decided to call Atlanta home, where he was attracted to the amount of independent artists that the city nurtures and the beauty of African Influence.

Aside from the arts, Sadiq works as an advocate for veterans who suffer from mental illness and substance abuse. Having completed advanced  coursework in both sociology and psychology, Sadiq greatly understands the experience of Veterans. Sadiq spends the majority of his time with youth-centered, progress-driven, and minority-focused organizations. He also actively advocates for the general equity of all people.

It has been many years since Sadiq was compared to Jean-Michel Basquiat while practicing his artistry in Cleveland, OH, however the inspiration of child-like creativity applies to all of his advocacy and personal works to this day.

Death to The N-Word highlights the desensitizing of the taboo-term through music, history, and multiple cultures.

Over the years, Sadiq has garnered a growing reputation for being able to surpass every expectation.

Most recently, Sadiq has emerged onto the film scene, selecting and directing a very heartfelt documentary for the past five years — Death to The N-Word.

And Lastly, Why Are You Interested In Working With The Atlanta Creators?
I am interested in becoming a part of a collective of artists who are all equally inspired to make the changes that they desire to see in the world. I am also looking forward to seeing the multiple perspectives that The Atlanta Creators has to offer.

KIPPER JONES
Legendary Singer/Songwriter
Music Industry Executive
Kipper Jones Inc

“They” is Kipper Jones, the legendary singer-songwriter whose longevity and body of work testify to the durability of real music and genuine emotion.

Kipper was born in Flint, Michigan, minutes away from the birthplace of Motown. He grew up in Los Angeles, where he trained as a session singer at age 15 under the tutelage of the
Berry Gordy school of Motown.

It was in L.A. where he continued his soul education under the wings of such luminaries as Stevie Wonder, Quincy Jones, Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds and Luther Vandross.

Kipper’s career is a timeline through the history of modern black music, from performing and recording as part of the venerable R&B outfit TEASE, as well as working with an eclectic, multi-generational collection of musicians including Anita Baker, Teddy Pendergrass, Brian McKnight, Teena Marie, Eric Clapton, Lauryn Hill and Sly Stone.

Kipper has most distinguished himself with his songwriting, which showcases his knack for crafting melodies that stick and lyrics that echo. Writing an indelible song requires more than ingenuity and command of theory—though Kipper has both in spades. What takes a song from good to great is emotional intelligence, and Kipper’s keen observations of life and love have resonated with the likes of Vanessa Williams ("The Right Stuff," "The Comfort Zone"), Brandy (“I Wanna Be Down,” “Brokenhearted,” “Baby,”), Chaka Khan (“Somethin’ Deep”), and Kenny Lattimore (“Never Too Busy”), to name only a few.
But despite his blessed career, Kipper is not content to rest on his laurels.

He currently hosts his own live show, where he and his band Kipper Jones' RnB Circus™ thrill capacity crowds with selections from soul music’s past and present.

To further his ongoing quest for “the next thing”, Kipper has just completed his first academic year as a student in the Berklee College of Music’s Music Business Degree Program.

He’s also helping to craft soul music’s future, including the single, “Closer To The Source,” which lends the Leroy Hutson classic a new coat of paint with the help of drummer Lil’ Jon Roberts and GRAMMY Award winners Snarky Puppy.

And Lastly, Why Are You Interested In Working With The Atlanta Creators?
It's ultimately important to collectively speak into the next generation of creatives. Especially in the burgeoning frontier that is the Atlanta-metro area! I am more than grateful and honored to assume my responsibility in that endeavor.

AMAYA SCOTT

Picture

Singer/Songwriter

I have been singing at various events such as weddings, pageants, and parties etc., majority of my life. After getting so many compliments on my vocal abilities, I decided in 2019 that I would take my singing seriously. So far, the Creator’s conference is my first official event in entertainment.

I decided a year ago to take singing seriously. In December, I entered a local talent show called “Who’s Got That Vibe.” Majority of my competitors had original music and I did not. I realized if I wanted to win, I either had to come with something original or lose. Within a week, I wrote a beautiful song and I performed it for the finale of the show. At the time, I didn’t know anything about creating or writing a song; I had no experience, but with God anything is possible. Needless to say, I won...& here I am.

And Lastly, Why Are You Interested In Working With The Atlanta Creators?

Music Artist/Singer/Rapper/Producer

My name is Zion Aka 7, originally from West Philadelphia. I have spent nearly 20 years in the industry working in different capacities and different roles within fashion, production, songwriting, and more recently focusing on my own artistry through music and poetry. I am an artist who embraces my purpose as a mouth piece for Jesus and being a voice of this generation.

Tell Us About How You Got Started In The Business?
Music has always been an outlet for me to deal with my issues from a young age. As I started writing, my poetry transformed into music. As I grew older, my sister was a big influence in getting me started in the industry, because she was a choreographer. She expressed herself through movement as I did the same through words and music. My initial start in the industry was as a celebrity stylist which allotted me the opportunity to meet and work with some amazing people. Being an artist at heart, I have transitioned to music and have been focusing on growing and expanding my craft.

Tell Is If You Were Involved In A Project That Really Pushed Your Boundaries?
My latest project "Color Me Human" has been my love offering to the world and also a boundary pusher for my life. It took everything I had to put together that body of work that represented where I was as a Christian, what I have overcome, and what I have healed from. Overall sharing my testimony, giving God the glory and releasing my past hurts through my music has been a form of therapy.

And Lastly, Why Are You Interested In Working With The Atlanta Creators?
I am grateful to work with the Atlanta Creators because of the wealth of knowledge and experience that they offer everyone who is a part of it. The platform is an amazing resource to connect with people, learn from the curated workshops, and grow in this industry.

I initially got started in the entertainment business as early as 15, when I formed my first band. Since that time, I have either started other bands or been recruited to join other bands. In addition to my experiences working as a vocalist, I have gained experience working as an actor and songwriter for a few independent films. One of the greatest challenges throughout my career in film and entertainment has been finding the courage to stay the course despite the many setbacks and no's that I have encountered over the years. There have been times when I have felt like throwing in the towel, but somehow, I manage to dig deep within and continue to push forward.

Recently, I had the privilege to perform in the musical version of Little Shop of Horrors. Originally, I was cast to be in the ensemble. Due to unforeseen circumstances, within two weeks of the show's opening night, I was cast as an understudy for the character, Mr. Mushnick. It was quite a challenge to learn all of the speaking parts and the blocking for the character, but with determination and extreme dedication, I was able to do just that.

And Lastly, Why Are You Interested In Working With The Atlanta Creators?
I am interested in working with The Atlanta Creators in order to be a part of this amazing networking opportunity. I excitedly look forward to the chance to meet with other professionals that I may be able to collaborate with. Please Give Us A Brief Overview About Your Time, Positions and Experience working within the Film, Arts and Entertainment Industry?

I have performed countless times in both Charleston and Atlanta as an artist. I also have starred in my own music videos as well as help with the creative directing for the video. I moved to Atlanta to be in an environment which is surrounded by people from both all walks of entertainment.
Tell Us About How You Got Started In The Business?
I was a soccer player for the Jamaican national team and suffered many injuries when I played at the collegiate level. During my time of recovery, I used music as my therapy. It then turned into a career and I haven't looked back since. Through this process I learned how important it is not to quit on yourself and your dreams. I plan on turning my dreams into a reality through not only my music but through every possible entertainment venture that I find interest in.
Tell Is If You Were Involved In A Project That Really Pushed Your Boundaries?
I have yet to be a part of a project that pushed the boundaries but plan to in the near future.
And Lastly, Why Are You Interested In Working With The Atlanta Creators?
I believe that by working with the Atlanta Creators I will be able to garnish the skills necessary to take my art to the next level. I am very excited to have the opportunity to work with such wonderful creatives.
